PINNeAPPle Labs

Program Rules

PINNeAPPle Bring Your Problem — first-cohort program framework. Applications are open; applications are accepted from October 29 to November 30, 2026, and project-specific terms are agreed separately.

1. Overview and purpose

Bring a real engineering or scientific problem. Work with PINNeAPPle to formulate it, build a physics-informed computational approach, and evaluate it against measurable evidence.

The first cohort selects three projects for 4–6 weeks of technical consulting per project at no consulting fee. Participation and particular scientific, commercial, or engineering outcomes are not guaranteed.

Program work builds on PINNeAPPle, open-source Physics AI published under Apache-2.0. Its library, documentation and use cases are public at pinneapple-labs.github.io.

2. Eligibility and applications

Researchers, research groups, graduate students, laboratories, engineers, R&D teams, startups, technology companies, and industrial teams may apply with a real, sufficiently defined problem and willingness to validate results.

Strong applications describe the physical problem, current approach, available data or physical constraints, measurable success criterion, realistic scope, and technical decision-maker. Applicants without every element may apply but must explain their readiness. Use non-confidential information only; do not submit files through the initial form.

3. Selection and evaluation

Selection is competitive. Review considers relevance, feasibility, data readiness and validation potential. The following 100-point rubric supports consistent evaluation; a score does not guarantee selection.

  • Scientific or engineering relevance and potential impact20 points
  • Feasibility within the 4–6 week window20 points
  • Fit with PINNeAPPle and Physics AI methods20 points
  • Availability and quality of data, simulations, or physical constraints15 points
  • Measurable outcome validation15 points
  • Potential for continued development10 points

4. Benefits and limitations

  • 4–6 weeks of scoped technical collaboration.
  • Initial problem diagnosis and formulation.
  • A practical technical approach using appropriate PINNeAPPle capabilities.
  • A baseline and measurable validation plan.
  • A prototype, experiment, or technical deliverable appropriate to the agreed scope.
  • A final technical summary, including limitations and recommended next steps.

Eligible applicants who are not selected may receive a tailored guide for solving their problem using PINNeAPPle, subject to capacity. This is not an unlimited computing grant, production engineering certification, or guarantee of improved performance.

5. Duration and scope

Each selected project runs for an agreed 4–6 week window. Objectives, exact deliverables, schedule, infrastructure access and responsibilities are agreed individually before substantive work. Submission alone does not create a consulting agreement.

6. Compute, software and external expenses

Consulting is free for selected projects. Compute, cloud GPU, third-party software, paid solver licenses and other external expenses are not automatically included. Any additional expenditure must be discussed and explicitly approved in advance.

7. Participant responsibilities

Participants should provide accurate readiness information, identify an available technical decision-maker, confirm their right to share relevant materials, agree on a realistic scope, and collaborate on measurable validation. Detailed responsibilities are agreed during scoping.

8. Confidentiality and technical materials

Do not include confidential technical materials in the initial form. Confidentiality obligations will be established separately where appropriate before sensitive information is shared. No particular NDA or secure file-sharing service is represented as already configured.

9. Intellectual property

Applying does not transfer ownership of the applicant’s intellectual property. Ownership, licensing, permitted use of existing code and ownership of project-specific developments must be agreed individually before substantive project work begins. PINNeAPPle does not automatically acquire ownership, licenses or publication rights.

PINNeAPPle’s own code is already open source under Apache-2.0 and stays governed by that license; it is available at github.com/PINNeAPPle-Labs/PINNeAPPle. Nothing in this program re-licenses an applicant’s materials.

10. Optional publication

Case studies, testimonials, presentations and promotional materials are optional and require separate, optional authorization given in the application form, which does not affect selection and can be withdrawn. Application processing is distinct from permission for public promotion.

11. Privacy and personal data

Application information is intended for review, selection, communication and scoping. ChordIQ (LAIS & YAN LTDA, CNPJ 62.766.371/0001-36, headquartered in Natal/RN, Brazil) is the company responsible for the processing of that data, and the program contact channel above receives privacy requests. Access, legal bases, storage, international transfer and retention are described in the Privacy Policy, which also sets out applicant safeguards.

12. Administration, changes and contact

Data access, legal bases, storage, international transfer, retention and privacy-request commitments are described in the Privacy Policy. First-cohort calendar: applications October 29 – November 30, 2026; review December 1–7; calls with shortlisted applicants December 8–12; selected projects announced December 15; scope, confidentiality and IP agreements December 15 – January 8, 2027; projects start January 11, 2027 and complete by February 19, 2027; guides for eligible non-selected applicants, subject to capacity, by January 15, 2027. Dates may be adjusted with notice on this page. No unverified address or contractual term is supplied here. Program updates must be reflected in this page and communicated to affected participants; project-specific agreements are handled separately.
